Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, has been placed in Group C for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The group also includes Benin Republic, which is now led by former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, as well as South Africa and Zimbabwe. Lesotho and Rwanda are the other two teams in the group.
The team that finishes in first place in Group C will secure automatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup. The qualifiers are scheduled to kick off in November 2023.
