Why I ventured into music – Skit maker, Taaooma

Taaooma, the popular skit maker also known as Maryam Akpaogaki, has shared the reason behind her venture into the music industry. According to her, she decided to pursue music because she felt it would be better to use her own songs in her skits instead of relying on songs by other musicians.

During an appearance on The Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo, Taaooma explained that entertainment represents freedom for her, allowing her to explore various creative avenues. She expressed her pride in creating her own music and the satisfaction of using her own songs in her skits. She also mentioned her studio, which enables her to record songs.

Taaooma further expressed her love for music and acknowledged that some people have complimented her on having a melodic voice. Instead of solely focusing on singing, she believes in collaborating with other artists to create unique and exciting projects.

Regarding criticism of her music, Taaooma stated that it is ultimately up to God and her own dedication to prove her detractors wrong. She remains committed to her artistic journey and is determined to make her mark in the music industry.
