Lookman’s exceptional debut season at Atalanta has been recognized with a well-deserved accolade.

Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles forward, has made history by becoming the first Nigerian player to win the Player of the Season Award at Atalanta in the Italian Serie A, according to Soccernet.

Lookman’s performance in his debut campaign with Atalanta was outstanding. The 25-year-old striker joined the club last summer from RB Leipzig for €9.2 million, and he proved to be worth every penny.

In 33 games for La Dea last season, Lookman scored 15 goals and provided eight assists. Despite his brilliance, the club finished in 6th place in the Serie A.

After his impressive performances, Lookman was nominated for the Player of the Season Award alongside Teun Koopmeiners, who is linked with Liverpool, and Marten de Roon.

Atalanta has now officially announced Lookman as the winner of the award, making him the first Nigerian player in the club’s history to achieve this honor.

Lookman faced some challenges towards the end of the season due to injuries. However, he will strive to improve when the new season kicks off in August.
